Parents/Carers

An amazing Book Week Character Parade was held at the Assembly this week. Every year is an explosion of characters coming to life by the students and staff. Ms. Lia Finocchiaro commented that her judging of best dressed for each class was going to be very difficult. I would like to thank Lia for being the judge, she has done this very important job since 2020. The winner of the Best Dressed classroom door went to Mrs. Tagumasi with 997, 2nd 3/4 Boyle with 627, and 3rd Preschool 3 with 353 Facebook votes. Thank you to our community who voted. There were 5461 votes in total! Thank you also to everyone who visited the Book Fair-was a very busy week! When looking at the photos see how many characters can you recognise.

Northern Territory Learning Commissioners

The Northern Territory Learning Commission (NTLC) student leaders are made up of 10 students from Years 5 and 6. Students involved in the NTLC are given the opportunity to grow their agency through analysing their school’s data to identify patterns, networking with other schools, researching and surveying staff and students to find areas of improvement in the school, and taking action to make change for students and their learning. During the year students looked at school survey data, PATR and PATM data, and A-E data. The students decided that they would look at student behavior and then fine-tuned this to “We want all learners in our school to know and understand our Values and what they mean for how great learning happens at ZPS! 27 schools went to the Convention Centre on Wednesday 16 November and spent time discussing what their pitch would be at the Expo to invited Ministers and Executive of Department of Education. Congratulations to the Commissioners who explained the Zuccoli Journey, you were fantastic ambassadors for the school. The commissioners gave their pitch to the Speaker of the House Mark Monaghan.

2023

The school’s projected enrolment is 530 students. Due to the growing enrolments, Zuccoli Primary will receive two relocated demountables, which will go in the space behind Blue Block. Year 5/6 will go into these demountables. There will also be a 5th classroom made in the middle common area of Orange and Blue Blocks to accommodate the growing enrolments. School Council and I continue to advocate for additional classroom spaces for 2024 and 2025.

Getting ready for 2023

Transition and information sessions have commenced for Year 6, new Transition students, and new preschool students. All students are getting excited about their big moves. During the Open House on Thursday 8 December, 5:00-6:30 pm, class lists will be displayed on the Basket Ball Court and there will be opportunities for parents and families to meet most new teachers and visit class spaces for 2023. Transition parents and students will also be able to attend an information session on this day from 5:30.

Swimming and School Camps

As discussed with School Council, school camp is for years 5 and 6 and they occur every even year i.e. 2024 will be the next school camp.

Swimming is for students in Transition to Year 2. This is held every odd year i.e. 2023.

The decision was made to split both of these events as the costs for families with children attending both activities at the same time would be cost-prohibitive.
