Gifted and Talented
Great news, Zuccoli Primary School is investing in extension programs for student who show talent in one or multiple areas of the curriculum. These extension programs are delivered by specialist teachers with expertise and passion in key learning areas.
Lego League led by Melanie Johnston:
Students in Lego League are preparing for the FIRST® LEGO® League Challenge. This is a friendly tournament that allows students to compete against teams from other Darwin schools. Students are currently engaging in research, problem-solving, coding, and engineering – building and programming a LEGO® robot.
Performing Arts led by Elisabeth Templar:
In these lessons, students of similar age are developing individual performance ideas to express themselves and entertain an audience. They are busy acting out plays and choreographing intricate dance performances to be shared in the future.
Literacy Club led by Erin Mettam:
Transition students in these sessions are being extended in literacy, furthering their writing, reading and listening and speaking skills and knowledge.
Science Club led by Erin Mettam:
Through ‘Science Club’ students are having opportunities to expand their scientific knowledge and skills through conducting a range of experiments. Students are learning how science is an inquiry process. Last week students discovered how water density effects an object’s buoyancy.
