Physical Education

Physical Education is offered to students from transition through to year 6, with a strong focus on developing students’ physical literacy. This is done by providing a variety of opportunities to engage in physical movement, including sports, athletic events and other movement based learning experiences. Some of the sports students could participate in include but are not limited to Basketball, Soccer, AFL, Netball and Tennis. Students also have the opportunity to develop athletic and motor skills across a selection of other learning experiences. Health is taught to students in a classroom setting which helps students develop an understanding of how to develop healthy lifestyle practices and habits.

There is always so much excitement and anticipation around our two main sporting events which are the Cross Country Carnival and Athletics Day. We welcome the community to attend these events which are held in Term 2 on the oval. Both days are a wonderful experience with everyone dressed in their sports coloured house shirts and chanting team songs to encourage friends. The winning team is announced at the following assembly. Other notable days on the sporting calendar include a variety interschool sports carnivals held throughout the year. Keep an eye out on the school’s social media and class dojo page for more information.

Zuccoli Primary School also supports, encourages and recognises students who achieve goals within their sporting club community. Students are also assisted to participate in community events such as Marathon 4 Kids.
