Auslan

Auslan is the nationally recognised sign language of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community. It is an inclusive language that is used by many people in Australia to communicate and engage with each other. It provides opportunities for students who find speaking and communicating difficult to engage with others in another way.

Zuccoli is working in partnership with the Darwin Language Centre to the provide Auslan language program. Students in years 3, 4 and the 4/5 classes have access to language classes that are an hour a week.

Pre-Auslan Sessions are offered for remaining classes where our students experience, 30-minute sessions learning the same topics as the Auslan language classes at a modified level.
