Auslan is the nationally recognised sign language of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community. It is an inclusive language that is used by many people in Australia to communicate and engage with each other. It provides opportunities for students who find speaking and communicating difficult to engage with others in another way.
Zuccoli is working in partnership with the Darwin Language Centre to provide ‘Languages Other Than English (LOTE) program. Students in Year Three, Four and Five classes have access to LOTE classes that are an hour a week.
Auslan/Sign Language Mini Sessions are offered for remaining classes where our students experience, 30-minute sessions learning the same topics as the LOTE classes at a modified level.
